What are wear-resistant gaskets?

A gasket seals the joint between two surfaces; a wear-resistant grade also stands up to load, movement and abrasion so the seal lasts. Material, thickness and profile are chosen for the pressure, temperature and media at the joint, and gaskets are cut or moulded to drawing.
