U-type bellows cover.

A U-type bellows way cover has a U-shaped cross-section that protects three faces of a guideway at once, blocking dust, coolant and chips during travel on CNC and grinding machines.

What is a U-shaped bellows cover?

Named for its U-shaped section, this cover wraps three sides of a drive rail on machine tools, gantry surface grinders, PCB and semiconductor equipment. It prevents dust, oil and moisture from reaching the rail, so the spindle keeps smooth movement and machining accuracy while the equipment lasts longer.

For long-stroke or high-speed axes, rollers, steel scissor supports or restraining straps can be built inside to stop the cover sagging, deforming or tearing.
