Aluminum apron cover
Interlocking aluminium slats for hot chips, heavy impact and long stroke.
An aluminium apron way cover is built from interlocking aluminium slats that ride over the guideway, taking hot chips, heavy impact and long strokes that would destroy a soft cover.
What is an aluminium apron cover?
The apron cover is a high-strength, modular guard made of interlocking aluminium slats. It is designed for CNC machine tools and heavy metal cutting, where high-temperature metal chips would damage a fabric or bellows cover, and it keeps the machine stable over long travel.
A smooth metal face prevents chips jamming, and the slats connect with a flexible rubber strip or metal links so the apron stays rigid yet mobile.
Construction
- Interlocking aluminium slats, modular and rigid
- Flexible rubber or metal connection between slats
- Slat width and thickness set by weight, speed and protection need
- Smooth metal face to prevent chip jamming
- Multiple end-mount options for a plug-and-play fit
Typical applications
- Heavy metal-cutting CNC machining centres
- Long-stroke, high-speed axes
- Guideways exposed to heavy, sharp or hot chips
- Order typeCustomised / made to drawing
Aluminium apron or fabric bellows cover?
Choose aluminium when chips are heavy, sharp or hot; choose a fabric bellows for lighter dust and oil mist where impact resistance is less critical.
Can it run at high speed?
Yes. The slat weight and connection material are optimised for modern high-speed CNC motion.
Can the width and length be customised?
Yes — it is a standard modular system with final width and length matched to your stroke.
